Wagons were 3.23:1 Open Centre. It didn't mater if they were GLi, Futura or Fairmont. XR ED/EF wagons were fitted with a 3.45:1 LSD.

Are you sure the diff in the wagon is LSD?

Depends if the sedan is 3.08 :1.

You can fit the LSD centre with the sedan ring gear (LH thread bolts too) - only prob is though IIRC a 3.08 ring gear won't fit the LSD carrier - only 3.23 or higher. **Someone confirm**.

Pinions and crownwheels are matched sets, they stay together. So that means otherwise moving pinion and diff carrier & ring gear over.

You'll need a new collapsible spacer for the pinion if you do that. Plus it'd be best to fit new bearings - carrier and pinion, considering the work that's involved moving them over.

Keep the diff carrier spacers from the rear axle the centre came from - also the shim the pinion uses to space it from the crownwheel. Pinion and carrier bearings need to have their preload measured.

Check the LSD centre, and make sure the cones haven't bottomed http://www.9bolt.com/technical.html . You can do a torque test on the wagon as well, to see if it is still tight.
The ford shop manuals give a good breakdown on overhauling diffs.

So it may not be just a case of swapping centres over . . . . .
