I have a EF 11 XR,the auto is playing up ,between 1st and 2nd gear .when the car slows to about 15kms,before it engages 1st and you apply throttle it neutralises for a sec then thrusts back to 2nd.Also on kick down in low gears the same thing happens except when it neutralises the revs rocket cause your on the throttle ,the wheels spin and the rear can get a bit sideways. The probs not drastic but its anoying and at times dangerous. Ive had cars auto serviced ,and 1s5 pressure control solanoid replaced, but still a prob .the auto guy is not sure what it is as he thought the slenoid would fix it. Anyhow if any auto experts out their have a theory ill be glad to listen.
Sorry about the long story ,hope u can help !!! puzzled :?

Mate i would just try adding a little transmission fluid. You probably only need to add 200-500mls.

The XR had a full auto service and solanoid replaced in late feb. He asures me its not low in fluid. so perhaps the replaced solanoid is faulty ,which you would hope unlikely ,or its something else, its the something else that no body can come up with.
thanks anyhow ,still puzzled !

Mate i have just gone through hell and back in terms of tryng to find out why my auto was playing up. to cut a long story short one ford place and auto elc and transmission joint and 600 od dollars later i fixed it with an 80 dollar computer. best bet would be to get it scanned for codes. also check the connections to the trans sometimes the get crap in them. well hope that helps and good luck.
