Hey guys,
Just wondering ...is it possible to put EL 3.45 diff gears into an EF GLi without too many hassles? My EF's got 3.08, and I may be able to get my hands on an EL 3.45 set (without the LSD). Do you see any probs with having the 3.45 gears, but not the LSD? Is it an easy DIY job to change the gears, or should I go to a diff workshop? Cheers guys.

I think the diffs with the 3.08 and 3.23 gear ratios were different to the ones with 3.45 and so they arn't interchangable. If you do a search it should come up as it's been covered before...

housing wont fit 3:45 gears easily you have to machine bearings, shims etc 3:23 is the housing to go for as most raios will fit in thier nicely |

3.08 has 71/2 inch ring gear all others have 7 3/4 inch ring gear

I have a 3.45 LSD from an EL Ghia up for sale... 140,000km... Comes with EL upper arms, EL handbrake setup, discs, calipers and EL watts link.
Ready for straight swap over. After $750 for that lot. And I work for a transport company. Depot is in Canningvale. Can send over for you to pickup for next to nothing. |

How much for transport then? Would all of this fit perfectly into an EF? DIY job ...or should I take it to a diff workshop? Let me know!
