can some one tell me what's involved with upgrading to EL ABS with a already ABS equiped ED? Would be it as simple as swapping the ED ABS module for a EL ABS module??

whats the difference in the units???
surely any $$$ you'd try to throw @ a different ABS unit would be far better spent on better rotors & pads

Different units - ED runs a Bendix, EL runs a Bosch 5.3. The bosch unit is better in terms of long term reliability.
The brake lines would need to be rebent to suit the different unit - probably better to install the brake lines that go with the unit. Electrical plugs will be different, so it would be a case of cutting the existing wiring and splicing into the bosch connector. Obviously a lot of work - if your current setup is working okay - leave it be.
