I wasn't sure what would be the end result of doing that way with an abs system fitted.....
I didn't want to stuff something up.....
Plus replenishing a fair amount of the brake fluid can't be a bad thing anyway :)

I have a non ABS and I had the same problem - as mentioned before it can be pad/disc related. I took the car back three times to the mechy and it didnt get any better...then three days later they had worn enough for the pedal to do something.

But it isn't a pad thing as I stated above it was an ignition thing................................

f**k your very lucky you didn't kill yourself.

It's a big no no to run your car will bleeding your brakes equipped with abs whilst the car is running.

The problem is with the car running and your bleeding the system. It only takes the car for the wheels to turn 2 - 3 kph for the abs module to go into test mode. What this means that it pumps the abs system at around 7,000 psi throught the bleeder valve.

Thats why you don't do this on falcons.

I've only come across 2 types of car that you can do this. Some of the landcruisers and i think it was the jeep grand jeerekees where the abs pump is part of the master cylinder. Only these type and maybe a few others you have to run the cars to bleed the system otherwise fluid won't pump through.

Moral of the story:

Check bleed nipple for blockage.

Check just inside of where the nipple sits for blockage. It doesn't take much to block a sysetm.

Take into consideration that it will always be slightly harder pump the pedal to bleed abs cars. That's normal.
