Ive just been doing a search and have come up blank on this one, EL and EB front rotors, do they interchange? And EB to EL rear brake pads, are they the same? I have noticed the caliper is at the front of the wheel arch in the EL and the rear in the EB and the handbrake mechanism is different, but do the pads interchange?

G'Day.
EA to ED rotors should be the same and they run pad DB1108 Rear pads are DB1108 EF to EL have diffent rotors to early E series & also have a specific ABS rotor. Also run DB1108 Rear pads for an EF to EL is DB1086. Same as pre VT Commodore. AU series one also runs Db1108 front pads. Cheers Stu |

the 132 rotor is for EF to El with ABS. |

Sorry just realised i wrote DB1108 for rear, sorry my typo was ment to be DB1109.
the 1086 pad is also the same dimension as the1376 how ever there is a thickness difference. |

Just remember guys, some EB's have ABS as well!
As for the difference between ed & el, I'm not sure. I thought the front rotors non abs were the same from EA thru to EL? Cheers ToranaGuy

I;ll try this post agian, my connection has dropped out 4 times.
The ABS rotors have a pulse ring. The main difference with the EA-ED rotors & Ef-EL rotors is the thickness of the rotors & the number of slots on the pulse ring where fitted. Cheers Stu |

Pulled the rotor off of the EL and chucked it on the EB and apart from being a fair amount thicker than the EB rotor, the only difference I can find is the pulse ring and the longer studs. Fits fine. So far, the only thing that hasnt been changed on the front left is the strut and hub. Still has that f'n noise though.
I cannot think of anything at all that would cause a whirring noise from the front end when turning left other than a stuffed bearing. Its had 3 sets and still does it. It only does it when it turns left even slightly. |

So anyways, the noise went away. I thought that was odd. Its been a while since I heard it but on the weekend we went for a run upto Port Douglas to see the outlaws and guess what came back home... That f'n noise.... weird. Its nowhere near as bad as it was though.

Question... when a power steer pump or rack is about to s**t itself or inthe process of s**t itself, can the symptoms of this be confused for a shagged wheel bearing? Ive noticed that the noise and vibration in the steering wheel is only at a certain amount of right hand down wheel lock, about the amount necesary to go around a roundabout on a dual carriageway, so top of the wheel at 3 o clock. Either side of this point, it feels fine and doesnt make a noise. Suggestions? (other than burn it)
