OK I fitted an EL diff in my Ef and used the top mounting holes as in the EF but I wonder if I should use the EL holes as I think the pinion angle is not right.
How do you measure the angle? The reason was due to the EF LSD I bought had a problem so I bought another that turned out to be an EL and the std diff and the new engine and XR6chick driving my car it eats RHS tyres in a month.

If you used the top holes then you must have removed the retainers, this is OK with the standard EF arms provided you are not lowered. If you are lowered then you will be better off getting XR upper arms which mount to the rear holes. These are the same length as the EF but have a bend at the rear to clear the diff. Otherwise you can use EL uppers and mount them to the front holes.

The car is lowered and I had new EF Tickford Upper control arms with neoprene bushes and after market lower control arms with the same.

i doubt u can use the EF xr6 upper arms without the brackets that attatches between the arms and the body

Its in and fitted and driving but it has a Vibration below 80kmph that why I thought the pinon angle was wrong. Also I fitted an alloy tail shaft.

I didnt fit it I only got the parts so I will have a look on the weekend. It is a Series 1 Futura

you will need to put in EL arms or you will get the 50kmh vibration cos the pinion angle is wrong. found this out the hard way when I bought an EL and someone put an EF diff in it and didnt change the arms. took me ages to figure it out.

Thanks for the quick replys? the EL uppers will only work if ford didnt move the body mounting point from EF to EL... quote from motor magazine when the EL was new... "for EL XRs the arms are longer and both body and axel pickup points are changed"

EL mounting point to body is the same as EF XR, which is the same as EB-ED weirdly enough.
I never knew EF's had that weird angled mount, bizarre.

neither did I as they are sold as EF EL so I thought they were all the same I know Whiteline have uppers set up slightly different to realign the diff to better geometry(bad spell)
