was just about to install my shift kit......But cause I wasnt going to use a switch, I got a little confused with the wiring!

Can anyone help?

Im just trying to work out where the wires go if im not going to use a switch!

Well, I havent seen the diagram, but wherever the 2 wires go into the switch, rather than connecting them to the switch, connect them to each other :)

Worked it all out peoples!

Shift kit is in and operational without a switch!

Its awsum! what a differance! Im loving it!

It chirps 2nd even with the locked diff!

Anyway motor comes apart this arvo......Doing a few things before the drags on wednesday! :twisted:

Excuse my ignorance guys, but before I do this mod, I'd like to know does the shift kit completely by pass the power/econ switch. And if so does this swithch operate as normal when the shift kit is off?

The power/econ switch is not by passed at all ....it still works if the shift kit is on or off ... they do a totaly differnt job

the shift kit changes gears faster ... and the power /econ holds in gear longer

im about to put a shift kit in my EL too just wondering if id be wasting my money if i bought a shift kit from http://shiftkits.com.au/ShiftKitsFord.aspx

Just wondering if all they are goin to sell me is the little project box with 2 resistors in it and a switch or if its going to be a better "proper one" if such a thing exists. THanks

you would be wasting money in my opion ... you can do it yourself for under $10 and get the same thing ...
lots of people on here have done there own and are very happy with there own work ....its great to do it yourself and you have all the help you need from the people from FordMod
