G'day guys,

Well I travel from Sydney to the coast every weekend, city driving the car is perfect.

When I accelerate over 90, my steering wheel starts shaking and vibrating, after around 120 it stops. That's a major problem cause I can only go 100 due to being on my greens. I'm not talking a little vibration, it's moving from left to right, but not enough to change the direction of the car. It also seems to lessen in severity when going around curves (almost completely gone).

I thought my rim may have been buckled or damaged due to hitting a few potholes up the coast, but as I said it's only between 90-120.

Just asking so I can give the mechanic a few ideas on what to check/replace.

Get a full safety check done on the car from somewhere like Pedders. They will let you know what's wrong. It could be anything from ball joints, Tie rod ends, Steering rack. Best get it seen to ASAP.

Ball joints and tie rod ends were done.

When they were done, the shaking got even more frequent which didn't make sense lol.

How much would I be looking at for the safety check from pedders?

Get the wheel/tyres balanced. You may have lost a balance when you hit the pothole. Imbalance can cause vibrations at certain speeds.

I will probably Thursday, hopefully fixes it, gets annoying for the 1 hour drive.
