Just went and asked the local ford dudes. They wouldn't let me order one without a GT VIN the bastards.

Go to another dealer, the guy checked when ordering mine and said it was no problem how many do you want.

Yeah the parts guy was looking it up for me and the manager walked past and overheard me say GT and then stepped in and said that we couldn't order it.

I'm lost...is it illegal to have 17" or something without the placard? I'm at a lost here.

It just means you can step up to larger wheels (19's) without having to get it engineered

The theory goes that you are not allowed to increase the diameter or width beyond a predetermined amount for the vehicle type. This sticker will make it easier to prove to the inspector the wheels comply as your current sticker probably say's 15's or 16's 5.5j.


VIC roads Quote:

The width of any replacement rim must not be:
- more than 25mm greater than the widest wheel specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series; or



Vic Roads Quote:

The overall diameter of any replacement rim and tyre must not be:
- more than 15mm greater than largest diameter tyre specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series; or

just the gt. an interesting point; most insurance companies only allow wheels X amount larger then what came on the car stock. so even if the placard said 17 and you had 19, if it was 15 to start with they'd try to bust your knees

No models mentioned on the decal. Just the single tyre size.
