Just put an EL Fairmont Ghia L.S.D up the a*** of my EF Fairmont.

The diff pinion angle is sitting a little high when just sitting there. So therefore it will raise further with acceleration. Having said this, I am after someone to tell me which of the upper trailing arm holes do I mount it to. There are 3.

Putting the arm in the right location, i'm sure will solve my vibration problem, as this was a problem I was aware of a fair while ago, just couldnt be bothered doing anything about it.

As for the bang, well the best way to describe it is, when you give it a bootful at the lights, not long after take off, you will hear this fairly loud bang. Sounds like you had a starter motor + an alt sitting loosely in your boot, then they roll back.

Is this a watts link problem, the other bar up front top of diff housing(sway bar???)...even a shocker problem? any ideas?

There are 3 sets of holes but only the front and rears can be used. The front holes are if you have 320mm (EL upper trailing arms) and the rears are if you have 350mm (EF or XR upper trailing arms)

The front lower one.

I fitted one to mine and used the top one but I had vibrations until I used the lower front one .

If you are using the original EF upper trailing arms you must fit them to the rear holes and not the front holes.

Are you using the original watts links? Im sure the EL one has a smaller pivot plate.

I think you will be better off fiting the EL upper trailing arms and watts link as this was an improvment from the EF setup.

look for a wear ring on your tail shaft around 10cm's up from the uni joint (diff end)

And then look at the tunnel at above the uni you might find its having mechanical intercourse.

Basically what Krytox is saying look to see if the driveshaft has been hitting the floor which is very likely if you had negative pinion angle. If it has it the balance weight(.s) may have come off resulting in imbalance or the shaft may have an imbalance due to the runout being alted from hitting the floor. If so have the shaft straightend and re-balanced or get a second hand shaft.
