hey all
i have little idea about diffs so i have a EL Ghia with LSD . its worn out hardly spinning both wheels . i want to put a minispool in it . and i want to keep my gears (3:45) what do i need to do and what parts do i need other then the minispool ? cheers jarrod

you need a open/std centre to fit the spool into. your 3.45 gear and everything will swap over

is it the same with an auto locker troyman ? I know you can buy them for Toyota LSDs but haven't seen any Ford ones.

do you mean the lockrite auto lockers?? yea the go into a std open diff centre aswell..
they do make the lockrite centres for the open bw 28 spline diffs.. |

any brand auto locker, as long as it fits into a lsd housing. Otherwise I'd have to cut and shut an open centre ea diff casing and I'm not sure the track is the same as au.
apologies to original poster for hijacking thread. To you I say that the money saved with a minispool will soon be used on axles.... hehe

the actuall diff housings are the same, just the centre housing/carrier is different from std to lsd..
so you get a std open centre, remove the spider gears ect, fit the locker into the open centrer, bolt on your crown wheel and it can be fitted into your housing.. |
