I have a 93 EB2 Wagon 4 ltr Auto with ABS and the diff has started to get a bit on the noisey side. Cant really complain as the vehicle has got 920,000 on the clock. What I would like to know, is it possible to fit a complete diff assembly out of an EL Fairmont Wagon with ABS without too many dramas?
Are the ABS systems compatible or do I just use the discs and sensors off the EB2? Is this conversion viable or should I just get the original center reconditioned? I would appreciate any feedback. Cheers for now. Matt

Shenko, welcome to Fordmods,
Both BenJ and myself are doing just this ATM, albeit with sedans. BenJ is a little more advanced than me and has a very helpful thread running here, http://www.fordmods.com/forums/diff-swa ... 56551.html The short answers to the best of my knowledge are Yes, Yes and yes/either. Get an LSD if poss. The EL LSD [disc to disc] I have had been fitted to an EB2 and the hand brake cables had been professionally altered to fit the EB2's standard h/brake setup. Ben informs me the caliper setup is actually EF so they will interchange as units. He is swapping all his EB gear onto the later diff housing, it's worth a read. Cheers, Paul

Thanks for that Paul. You're right. The thread is an interesting read. I'll do a little more research and do some costings before I go any further.
Thanks again. Matt
