Pics wont tell you much. It will just show a slightly longer arm being bolted into the rearmost hole.
That is the only difference between the 2. |

If you have purchased the 340mm (Centre to Centre - Part 46900A) arms, they are the EL XR length, and go into the lower rear hole that the captive nut runs to. Using these arms in your diff will cause no vibrations or problems with the diff. Its really the only way to lower the rear end of an EL to superlow or ultra low height without any problems. It obviously causes the pinion to sit within the required angles.[/quote]
im lowering my EL Futura this weekend on a set of dobinson lows, will lower the car by about 35mm or so, will i need to change my upper control arms to xr spec.

I thought lows were basically the same as the XR height.

Ok ive tracked down a pair of the XR upper trailing arms in Nolathane from Repco for $195. Ford do have them genuine but without bushes for the same price. All the other places only had the EF type with no bend in the rear. Pedders had the same EF type for $220!

Bought the upper trailing arms today and all fitted. Not a single noise or vibration in the driveline even on deceleration at 80k's. The pinion angle is now 1.3 deg with a difference of 0.4 deg from front to rear on the Angle Master. Along with a 3 1/4" alloy shaft i made and balanced i have to say its the same if not quieter than a 2pc driveline setup.
