just wondering, would a 6 speed ba gearbox fit up to a el xr6, if so how and what would i have to do to do so

Cost aside it would require a fair bit of custom work. Assuming I6 to I6 then the areas that are not bolt up are:

Belhousing is not exactly the same pattern, you will not be able to bolt the bottom two holes.

Clutch is Hydraulic so you will need to mount a custom master cylinder and pedal and run the hose.

Box length is different so the gear stick position is 50mm further back requiring a custom stick and some trans tunnel work.

Because of the length difference the tailshaft will be a custom unit.


The cost is probably the killer here for all but a very special E series , cross this bridge first or wonder no more.
