Has any one noticed thr 3 different location points for the rear upper control arm on the Falcon diffs (may be differents on different models?).
My car axle tramps quite badly and presently has the upper control arm located on the location point closest to the center line of the axle. I was wondering if I moved the control arm to the location points furthest from the axle center line if it would help eliminate the axle tramp. Surely it would reduce diff wind-up because of the extra leverage. It doesn't appear that it would affect the sespension geometry as the the other location points lie on an arc coressponding to the throwout angle of the control arm. Any one tried chamging this or heard any good or bad reports?

Yeah I noticed this when changing my EL Gli diff to an EL XR diff. I'm just having a guess here, and going off the rub marks around each hole when we had everything apart, but I think it has the different holes for different ride heights ie: higher ride height (Gli) rear holes, lower ride height (XR)front holes, mid ride height (Mont/Lane) mid holes???

use the holes closest to the centre of the diff
xe-ef has holes in furthest away hole in your diff and they tended to tramp more and lift the a** while cornering
the tried to fix it with el's and lowered the upper control arm mounting point
but if in doubt talk to a decent suspension specialist

Becareful, cos you got it wrong there.

EL's dont use the highest hole in the diff. EF and previous models did, but EL's dont use that hole at all.

All EL models, but the XR models, use the hole closest to the front of the diff, which is the hole in the middle.

XR's have a specially designed arm that use the rear and lowest hole for mounting for better handling and lower ride height.

If you attempt to use the wrong arms in the wrong holes, you'll end up with bad diff angles, damaged diffs and more.
