Had my EL XR8 camber kit checked today cause its done 1000ks since fitment and had them check the sizes of the swaybars.
The front one is 27mm and the rear 22mm. Do you reckon its worth going to 30mm for the front and 24mm for the rear? It'll be whiteline swaybars. Cost including fitting and new bushes etc is $530. I've already got a Konis and Lovells or King low springs in it so that would be the final suspension mod and would be really sporty round corners. |

dont go too stiff at teh back.. causes OVERSTEER

No settings calibration or anything? Just straight replace?
If so I'll have a go. I've got f**k all to do the next 3 weeks. Want to give us a hand when I get some? I dont think 24mm at the rear is too much. I suggested 30mm to Fraser but I think thats overkill after talking to the guys at WA suspensions today. |

ordered my whiteline say bars at work today too! 30mm front and the special one for the rear (dunno the size, but wagons don't come from factory with them so anythings better).

I don't think the fronts will be too hard. From what I remember it's a matter of undoing the mounts and replacing (two bolts per side), but then there's the bit were it connects to the suspension, looks like one nut or something, dunno what the deal is there.
Rear will probably be a pain as got to start from scratch and fit all the mounts and blah blah. |

Yeah guys, swaybars are easy as piss.
Undo the bolt on the D-Mounts, undo the swaybar links (bit of metal with thread on each side, and a length of metal in between, one side bolts to mounting point on chassis, with rubbers and washers, other bolts to swaybar, also obviously with rubbers). Manuever it out, manuever in new one, use lithium grease on the faces of your new swaybar link bushes (you did get polyurethane bushes, didn't you!!!!), and on the inside of the D-Mount. Do up everything so it's just holding the bar, put the car back on the ground, and do everything up tight (but not so tight that the bushes deform), with the car at normal ride height. Probably doable in an hour. And IMO 30mm Front, 24mm Rear will be perfect.
