So ethanol is a good thing now is it?
Back 12 years ago mick scorpos the petrol discount king was found to be adding ethanol to his petrol so he could lower the price lower than everyone else. Always thought it was like watering down petrol |

my mum has an '88 camry and she only runs E10 in it, apparently it runs smoother and gets more KM's to a tank.
it seems the only real question with ethanol blends is the adverse wear effects on your engine which is hard to guage this early in the life of the fuel... |

Always thought it was like watering down petrol I agree Mick Scorpos did this in the day to stretch his wallet. And in those days ethanol was less than 50c a litre so he was increasing his pockets yes. But as for adverse effects, I doubt it would have much other than higher fuel consumption and poorer running IF your car isnt tuned for it.

If enthanol was really the DEVIL people think it is, why is it allowed to be sold?
If anyones doubtful about ethanol fuels, just try it. Didn't like it? Don't use it again. Except don't use E85 unless your car is tuned for it.

I dont like it at all, slight loss of consumption and 2 fuel injectors clogged as a result. Car loses power and idles worse. Not worth the 3c saving

ethanol fuel is generally thicker than regular petrol. I recommend tuning the car to handle it or consulting the manual for confirmation

Thats because if an aircraft engine fails with the dodgy fuel it will crash land A car will came to a stop quite easily........ |

does anyone know what octane E85 is, and what petrol stations sell it? We dont get it in WA, but im considering getting a 44gallon drum of it, so if anyone knows SA sells E85, or worst case scenario we have to go further east, i'd like any information possible
