Alright now that the car isn't far off being lowered i gotta get an exhaust so that i can hear the car. I dont know whether getting just the cat back is worth it or getting the full system.maybe extractors, i dont know. But what is better to do.No really too worried bout the power but it needs a better note rather than the stock sound. You can hardly hear it. Is it better to do the lot or just catback thats the question.Cheers......pics soon...maybe with exhaust, help us out.

If your just after noise a cat back exhaust will be sufficent.
If your after an improvement in power and torque, then you'll be wanting a full exhaust system - extractors and replacement exhaust. As for what sounds the best - Lukey IMO. There ultraflow and race mufflers are king s**t!!! |

go cat back with 1 muffler only and straight through pipe at the rear(no resinator or hot dog). perfect exhaust note and sound
if you want it REALLY loud do a straight pipe cat back(no mufflers at all.

If it's an I6 and you just want the note, I got a cat back for the same reason, 2.5" redback, I'm just getting ready to stick a new cat and extractors on it soon but it sounds good as it is and it only set me back $120 fitted (3 years ago).
Cheers!

i got it for the note and i needed a new one cause mine had holes in the mufflers.
That cost me $110 fitted. Its got 2 center mufflers and no rear resi and thats got a nice note but not a drowning noise.

I should have said: I got single rear muffler, no droning noise at all, really only blurts out the sound when you kick it in the guts in first and second (auto) burbbles nicely in third and quietens down in overdrive (or it might just be that the road noise drowns it out) but has a nice idle burbble to it too.

I've got a dual muffler Redback catback in my AU and that gives a nice note, deeper than standard without being drastically louder which is exactly what I wanted.
My previous EL had a single muffler Redback and that sounded pretty good, a fair bit louder than the dual muffler system, but was still reasonably quite when cruising. If you're after noise only, just go the single muffler catback. You will still get a mild performance increase. If you're after more power do the extractors as well. Most people seem to recommend Pacemakers. |

My mate has 2.5" single muffler system on his EFII and it's not droney but sounds great.
It's only a little louder then my BA 2.5" lukey system though. |
