My mate wants to replace his BA XR6 N/A with a motor, tranny- basically complete driveline from an F6.

Wheres the best place to look for these motors, also roughly how much?

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier for your mate to sell the n/a xr6 and buy a xr6t? I know it's not a phoon engine (bf xr6t onwards are pretty much phoon engines anyway) but once you add up all the costs you're looking at a bit of money, i think engine + gearbox is around 10-12k + labour for fitting (unless your doing it yourelves) and anything else you might need

But if he's keen to replace the engine then FTG would be the best bet of finding what you need, other then that you could try ebay/trading post or he could even look at buying a wreck from the auctions and score a few extra goodies

Fair enough then :) I got a 6 speed manual out of a phoon with 800km on it if your mate wants it :P

Nicko... would that get him engine, gearbox, tailshaft and diff + install for 10k?

s**t prices must really be coming down then. I thought just the engine and box would be 10k if he's lucky. I better start looking out for a boss 290 then :D

install would be a piece of piss if its going into a B series,
Only thing he needs to make suire of if he has a ba
get a conversion from a ba, if he has bf get a bf conversion.

They changed the key locking system and looms on bf, so unless he wants to do a whole dash loom swap also!

and according to the FTG tsunami build that was a bit of a PITA wiring it all up, or at least a task and a half.
