Can anyone help?
After changing the transmission oil and filter on my 1999 Au Fairmont it started to when cold not wanting to pull away in drive, so i did some research and its Probably due to the fact that I have under filled the transmission fluid which sounds about right coz it’s a b**ch to refill. Anyway i have only gone and rounded the filler bolt and can’t get the F***** off again. Yes i know i screwed up!!. Is there any other way i can top up the transmission fluid. eg via the converter pipes near the radiator? Or some other way. Cheers Graeme |

not really! you need to fill it from the filler plug while the engine is running...

the correct way is fill it to the top of the filler hole, start the car so the fluid is circulated through the converter and pump, put it in l,2,3,drv, rev and back to neutral and check the level while still idling, if it needs more fill it untill fluid starts coming out the filler.... done

Thanks for you feedback, As this will probably be the last transmission change I will give the car. Is there any way I can top the oil up through the converter?
