Koni reds are not crap, just ordinary, get eh koni yellows as a minimum they are atleast made in the UK, or go bilsteins.

Plenty of brands to choose..

But to make a statement of Konis are crap without any info to back up your claim is irresponsible, comments like that is why some view sites like this as crap.

Info to back up your claim.

Koni reds are fine for stock replacment. similar packages can had for a bit less, if your happy to pick out and piece together the kit components yourself. $1900 is all the work done you install..

So all these workshops saying koni reds comparing to BOGE or ULTIMA shock is like chawk and cheese and now i see that its not the case.

DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN im so glad this has come up as im going to go suspension setup on my EF XR6 just before tax time.

Ive used BOGE shocks front and rear and Pedders springs front and rear anf found the front to drive nice and handle well but the rear is abit softer than the front which i have read that alot of other have expierenced.

if you have a bit of coin to throw at it, some mid range KYB's Bilsteins or Konis are more than complementary for the falcons, enrty level stufff gives those results.

My advise, when you do shock and springs also do bushes. you will notice everything tightens up nice then.

dc_todd

So you saying Boge and Ultima shock are comparable to Koni, Bilstein and KYB??? Or that Koni and Blisstein are better but not but a long shoot like suspension shops say???

I would like my EF XR6 to feel some what like a New HSV but i know it may not be possible due to everything being different in both cars, so even if i get 70% of the ride, comfort and handling characterics ill be a happy.

Dobinson springs I have only heard good things about (ie better than kings), haven't used them though.

I have used koni reds and boge shocks which I both found pretty good for their price.

They don't compare to bilsteins but then you get what you pay for.

I don't know if there is different types of ultima's, but my mate has the yellow ones in his car and they handle like s**t after 5000km compared to the boge shocks (around the same price).

Ok so I'll give dobinsons a call tomoz and see what they have
And I think I'll most likely go for koni shocks. As per Which colour I get I'm not sure, it all depends on how much cash I have left. Haha

Hey mate. What are you aiming for exactly and what kind of budget are you looking at? There are a lot of things to consider with suspension so you're better off doing it properly once otherwise it becomes expensive :\ Some things to think about... Is the ute for work or play? Are you going to have big loads on it? Are you after looks? Best possible handling? Bit better than stock?

I can't say that I'd be in a rush to buy suspension from a bodykit shop...
