I replaced the standard height falcon springs with a set of dobinson lows to my EL yesterday. very nice springs, the ride is really good.
my question is, after installing a new set of springs, do they go through a settling in period as in will they drop a little more and if so how much.

10mm is 1 cm thats a fair bit. I doubt they will drop much more, maybe a couple of mm.
