Can this be done? What happens with the LSD part, if I install them will it still be a single spiner unless I get the LSD part?

Will they fit into a diff with 3.08 gears that the moment?

Is it hard to do?

Thanks guys!

Are you running an lsd atm or just a lonely little single spinner?

If I had to choose between a genuine LSD or a Mini Spool what would be the go? Bear in mind the Mini Spool is half the price...

Personally i went for the genuine lsd, mainly on the recommendation of the guys that did the diff for me. is this something your looking at doing urself or taking it to a specialist?

My Dad's pretty decent with cars and I have a mate that was a mechanic but lost his job due to a fight at work - I'm hoping I can do it myself with their help. Reckon we'll be able to get it done? Is there anythign else I'll need if we do do it ourselves?

I just read that spools are terrible for your driveline if you drive them on the road constantly... does that sound true?

What about the 4.11s on the highway, I make trips to brissy and whatnot say once every 3 months? What kind of rpm:speed you reckon I'll be getting?

IMO i would go the 4.11 lsd, from experience i went from 1800 rpm 3.23 - 2100/2200 with 3.73, so ur prob looking at roughly 2500 at 100. if ur only doing highway trips every 3 months the money you save around town with less revs required will even out what it costs on the highway.

Also there is a calc in the tech docs that tells you what ur speed will be. here is the link.

It should be noted that the 3.45 gears and carrier will not fit into a 3.08 housing.

Also, changing centres is not what I would call a DIY operation for a backyard mechanic. There are specialist tools and knowledge required and is best left to the experts.

3.08, 2.99, 2.73

It is a much easier and cheaper proposition to source a complete diif including housing, and swap that into your car.

That really is a DIY job and I have done it a couple of times. Using a trolley jack, ramps and stands, I can swap the diff on my own in under two hours.
