recieving some nice new DBA's and GREENSTUFF's this week for the XR8. Wanted to know if somebody can point me in the right direction on fitting them myself and what i'd need ? I've heard it's realtivly easy.. ???

Go to an auto store and buy a manual it's easy but if you;'ve got the basic instructions (that are provided in the manuals) then it'll give you the extra confidence and give you a guide in the right direction - aswell as providing the torque settings etc. that you will need. And you'll always use it again. $40.00 ain't much to send for the amount you'll save as aposed to paying someone to do it!

I agree buy a manual and you'll have no probs, did my old ed xr6 4 rotors and pads. you may need a claw puller if your disks are hard that was the only problem i came across.

don't forget to rubber grease up the slide pins on the brake calpiers!
this is one thing that shouldn't be overlooked on the brakes!

ohh and don't forget if they're slotted, theres a left and a right rotor

just browsing the DBA website, noticed that there are 2 types of rotor for EF/EL XR model. My rotors I have recieved are listed as being for EF/EL XR w/ ABSuntil 1/11/96 only pt#132- then the second type is listed as just EL w/ ABS 1/11/96 pt #134 and my EL 2XR8 is Nov 97.

the differences lie in 1mm difference in original thickness on the stock rotors, apparently. and a 1mm difference in minimum machining thickness. heights are all the same.

Should any of that matter ?
