Hi,
I don't know if it's common knowledge but not only did BTR supply Ford with four speed automatic gearboxes but also Ssangyong for fitment to the Musso. Although the Ssangyong version has a transfer case for 4 wheel drive. The details pertaining to the actual automatic gearbox look to be identical to the BTR 93LE (or am I wrong?). As I've found the manuals on one of the Ssangyong clubs website's it probably unfair to them to provide the applicable link. However I believe this link may also be pertinent:- http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/ ... MUSSO.html Oh the gearbox details are present in section 5A of the complete Musso manual. |

The BTR 74LE fitted to the Musso's is different to the 93LE, internally. small differences, but different.

Thanks for that, I am still waiting to see if the download works, I beleve the gearboxes are slightly different, but I like to get my hands on any technical service manuals I can for any cars, appliances, lawnmowers, u name it, anything technical. Cheers, Gab |

would be interesting to know just how different, perhaps for someone doing a windsor conversion into a fourby...

Yep,
DC Todd can you give us a 'heads up' as to the differences? I'm in the process of rebuilding a secondhand valve body to do a quick replacement with my present one (S1 and maybe S5 are playing up). All the Torx fasteners appear to be in the identical position as well as the ball valves and the Ssangyong manual shows the appropriate tightening pattern. When you compare this to the Max Ellery manual for the AU, which tells you nothing and actually depicts the band adjuster screws on the outside of the gearbox! |
