hey gus what can this be the fuse for my brakes and cruise in my au2 fairlane v8 keep blowing, how can i fix this?

replace the globes and brake light switch, check the towbar wiring also.

ohh ok could a faulty globe cause this? were abouts is the brake light switch

on top of the pedal to my knolage.. check the wires coming off the brake switch. they tend to get crushed
towbar wiring +1

i traced the rear break light wires and found that about 5 of them were crushed in the boot and touching each other so i taped them up but that still didnt fix the problem, so i then went to the shop changed the globes and the brake sensor and so far so good hasnt blown the fuse yet but ill take it for a test drive and see what happens after that

well after all that the fuse keeps blowing any other ideas or do i have to get the auto sparky to suss it out

keep looking for shorts.
or try putting a higher rating fuse see if it blows too.

ea_falcon wrote: what is the best way to check for shorts ?? Don't put a higher rated fuse in mate, if the recommended rating one keeps blowing there's problem that need to be addressed. You can use a multimeter to test for shorts, you can probably pick one up for about $10 (Bunnings maybe?) if you don't have one. The best way to test would be at the light fitting itself and test for continuity from each wire to the body. Ground one side of the multimeter to the body and use the other on the terminals in the plug. Obviously one should be ground and the other shouldn't. You should be able to narrow down the problem that way.
