G'day

Today as i was pulling out of the local shopping centre carpark, changing from 1st to 2nd, i heard a clunck, followed by another clunck about 500m down the road, and then, BANG, clatter clatter clatter all the way down the road in 2nd gear, change to 3rd, noise gone.
So 2nd gear has carked it.
The gearbox i've got in my xf wagon is the 5 speed 0507 xxx gearbox. This box is supposedly only for the 3.3's that came in the xf's but some clown put it behind the 4.1.

So now its time to get another box. I can get an ed i6 t5 thats done 135000, looks really clean, and doesn't sound to bad at all. Are these boxes a good thing? What are they like compared to the el t5's?
I wanted to use an au xr6 t5 but apparently the shifter is in a different spot and wont fit in my car.

Also, can you get a shift kit for the t5's?

short throw shifters arent cheap...... herrod, webb's SVO, etc have thier own in-house ones, B&M do a "ripper" shifter for T5's too i think..... $300+ IIRC
