I have searched but couldn't find any info
on what gearbox to use if converting from
a ED V8 to a 5spd manual..If I can't source a XR8 gearbox what
do people use?

arent the 6 and 8 boxes the same?
just the computer is different.

Nope, the input shafts are different.

You can use a 4.0l T5 if you get the input shaft machined. PM Barnacus as he has done this in his V8 wagon.

cheers but if you use a six cyl gearbox wouldn't the ratio's be mismatched?
