2.5k sounds a little hard to believing, seeing as though i will need a new tailshaft, a very f*#kn alot of work to get a t56 to actually fit and work..
most shops ive called have quoted more then double that with a clutch to suit

Definately go a t5, only a 355 twin turbo stroker can blow a t5.

Good condition BTR with a proper shift kit from MV Automatics will handle s**t more power than any T5 ever will, and they drive really nicely too.

Also, T5s are crap. I blew one apart with 206rwkw, and at the time I wasn't even getting up it that hard.

You might be lucky and get a good one (eed-250 seems to have one hand-built by God himself) but more than likely you'll kill a couple.

Even with a magic roller bearing conversion you are still dealing with pissy T5 gears, which are pathetic in comparison to a T56, and by the time you've paid for the bearing conversion, box rebuild blah blah blah, you're most of the way to a 6 speed.

If you are after a lot of power, a TKO or a T56 is the only choice for manual.

Also, it is generally accepted that a TKO is 'stronger' than a T56, but according to Mal Wood, the power hendling capabilities are pretty much acedemic, both boxes handle pretty much the same amount of punishment, but the 6-speed is cheaper and easier to fit :)

If you're thinking of a T5 (Eseries to AU) behind a turbo, I'd doubt it'll last long - depending on the tune. The tune is what will determine the life of the box, if it is progressive power the box will last longer.
200rwkw isn't a huge amount, if you're turbo'd you'll be able to tune it alot higher eventually tho.

If you want a 5 speed, you want the T5Z out of the XR6Ts they're a far superior box to the T5s.

Ideally you'll want a T56 or a TKO, but in terms of cost a T5Z will do everything you want at that power level, and the turbo boys are all upgrading to T56s, so there are plenty around.
apparently 300rwkw is the point the turbo boys see as the limit of the T5Z

I did have a much more involved procedure for fitting the 6 speed in my build thread on AFF, but since Russell is a rampant homosexual and banned me, deleting most of my posts, it is no longer available for people to view.

Haven't got around to making a separate thread about it yet.
