Ever since i installed my shift kit (at least, i think it started then), the centre console in the EA has been getting hot. Doesn't take a long drive to heat it up either - usually just a 10 minute, around the town cruise will do it. On a drive down to the coast one night, i even had to put the windows down occasionally as it got pretty hot. It seems to happen intermittently, about once or twice a week. I'll try driving with the shift kit off for a while to see if it changes it, but anyone offer any insight into what it could be?

I think the shift kit is acting as a heat sink at the moment transfering more heat to the console. It is normal for the transmission to hear up, my T5 heats up and i can feel it through the gear stick metal (not the knob). So I assume the shift kit just transfered the heat since it sits on top of the box and closer to the console. phong =P~

So no harm done, you reckon? It doesn't seem to be doing any harm - haven't noticed any sort of troubles with gear changes or anything.

I guess no harm done. Start worrying when things seem different besides temp. You can always get a cooler if you want to cool the transmission down if you are worried. phong =P~
