I have been having a problem With my EF lately, mainly when i first start it up in the morning. When put into Drive it sometimes takes a few seconds and a few revs before it will go into D. On Sunday I actually had to pull over because it wasnt changing into second gear, it was just reving. But i have only noticed this when it is cold. It is fine after driving for a while??

i think it might need the bands tightened? not sure tho as im not really experienced with auto boxes.

A vote for trans fluid, removing the dipstick was a s**t idea.

Low trans fluid!! After servicing my auto on the weekend I had a similar prob. Your oil level is a touch too low. Bout 250-400mls should fix it up.

2 months ago when i had my ef had the same problem took it in, flushed and changed the oil, the guy said i needed a new trans. sold the car for 3 grand and got a ba. mayb u shuld do the same lol. but my ef had 237 000km.

300mls of transmission fluid seems to have fixed the prob thanks!

trans fluid check the level in park and that should be your problem

also badley burnt fluid is a big cause suggets you do a full service on it as this can be a major killer of the falcon auto to slow down the buring of the oil fit a decent size auto cooler and ya transmission will luv ya for it did this on my mont and hasnt been burnin it as much

i got the same problem, with the no going into second and just reving but when it warms up. it drives like a dream and doesn't miss abit. So i think its not the bands coz it would do it when its hot then. Will put more oil in and try that when i get my motor back.

remember to get your auto flushed at least once every 60,000km
but better to do it every year!!!
