Hey guys,
1st time user here. Looking at possibly getting a BF wagon and was wondering if anyone has 1st hand experience putting either a 6spd auto in place of the 4spd, OR a 6spd manual....? Cheers, J |

Cheers, J Good luck on the Auto.. the 6spd is completely incompatible with the BTR 4spd you'd have to replace half the wiring looms in the car.. however I just put in a 6 speed manual.. that job is easy enough.. pedalbox, tailshaft, some wiring and a PCM tune to manual basically. We did the whole swap on a saturday arvo.. finished fairly late at night, but that was due to logistics more than anything. |

Thanks man.
With the manual option - what's the electrical work required? Just a tune? Does it effect electrics in car for stereo, climate control etc? Speedo? would a 6spd manual ute's tailshaft fit straight up? Same as wagon aren't they? |

I bought my setup all at the same time.. box, rear engine mount, tailshaft.. the tailshaft is different from the 4 speed auto.. but the manual one will bolt straight to your old diff.. at least mine did.. pedal box goes in without the dash coming out too. only wiring I did was for getting the reverse lights working. everything else in the car works fine.. only difference is the cruise control has an extra switch on the clutch to disengage it when you push the clutch in. |

Cool - and you did this to a wagon, not a sedan?
What they charge you for the bits? Recon or just from wreckers? |

The tailshaft will be a different length to mine, but that's fixable. Mine was also a turbo.. so I scored the T56 box, rear mount, pedalbox and center console stuff and tailshaft for 1500, low km no slop at all. I picked up a short shifter and that really expensive t56 oil (mainlube I think it is.. ) was an expensive but so worth it mod. |
