As above,im finally getting the falcon lowered and new struts and shocks are getting put in BUT..
I still need to deceide on:what struts and shocks(ultima or KYB)
The guy is tellin me to go with the ultimas because they are firmer and have sport valving.I dont know how true this is.Are the KYBs(Excel-G)firm enough?
Also im thinking of getting lows in the front and superlows in the rear because the rear sits about an inch higher.
Anyone with this done please reply as wednesday is not far off.

CHEERS in advance.

I have superlows all round and it sits level (330mm from centre of wheel to guard) I used Monroe GT Gas and dont mind the ride, its firm but not rock hard. I guess if its too soft it may bottom out to easy. For all the springs, shocks/struts and camber it it set me back $604 heres a pic to give you an idea, it only has stock 15's at the moment tho.

Shocks dont determine the ride height just the the ride itself, unless the lower seat on the front struts are lower which will make a difference but then the specs of the front springs mean nothing.

Make sure you use shortened rear shocks for lowered rear springs. Consensus seems to be that the rear should be slightly higher than the front for optimum handling.

my old man got some new things for his car in the last week

'98 EL Fairmont GHIA with all the bells and whistles (love the leather seats :P)

$2000 on 18INCH BA rims & tyres,
245 by 35 at front ][ 275 by 35 at rear .. guy couldn't put any wider tyres on the rear.. my old man wanted wider

$1000 on lowering 1 inch... sits f**k nice at the back... but a little high at the front still.

he is spending $800 or something on new red back mandrel bents 2.5" exhaust all the way through with a high flow cat, 1 muffler and a resonator(as usual... i told him to leave the resonator out !!)

now with the LOWS... 1 inch lower... and the 18inch wheels... i couldn't believe how low it sat at the back... as low as my car and it's on 17inch with super lows... :( - i gotta go one better, and get 19" rims :)
