I'm deciding which shocks to buy for my EF I6 sedan...

Budget: Approx $1000 for 4 shocks supplied (will fit myself), preferably not too much higher
Needs: Nice tight stiff handling (but not bone shatteringly bumpy), no track racing, adjustables not needed, reliability
Other components going with them: King Superlows, Whiteline swaybars front/back, full nolathane bush kit

Just have a couple of questions:

1. Those with Koni or Bilstein shocks, where did you find them? I can't seem to find anywhere on the net selling them. I'm thinking some Koni or Bilstein non-adjustables would be ideal but can't find any

2. Seeing as the only supposedly half decent shocks I can find to buy on the net are KYB AGX Adjustables, are they suitable for superlow springs? Have read a lot of posts on the forums about these shocks but can't find a definite answer to this question.

I had quotes for both Koni Yellow, and Bilsteins, both were around the $1100 mark.
I'll see if I can find where it was from. Koni Reds might be lower in price.

You need to specify "short throw" to suit the superlows, you will also need new "short throw" bump stops, which will add approx $40 per corner.

I have put in the Monroe GT Sport in my BF Falcon. I think it was about $750 supplied and fitted, they are stiff but not bone shattering and handle pretty good in my eyes. They seem pretty common with the fords for people who dont want to spend heaps of money on really good ones.

i am instrested in a shock upgrade for my ute has anyone also with around the same budget, can anyone give a recomendation on the pedders "sports rider" shocks are they any good?? not to worried about comfort as leaf springs and comfort do not work together very well

+1 there, I have GT Sports in mine. A little bumpier than standard but nothing bad, perform well too.

i was told when doing my suspension in my ef that the Bilsteins would give a good firm ride, but not liking the answer i went down the adjustable path to which i was told depending on the ride height would depend on the shock too use, tickford or stock falcon height, i was advised to go with koni adjustable, but if i was going super low to go for the kyb agx adjustable. i was sticking with tickford height so went with the koni adjustable ones, very happy with them. picked them up new for $1050.

i just got monroe GT sports, i want to go to super lows too but will it stuff my new shocks and struts?

GT Sport shocks and struts are (I'm pretty sure) already short bodied. You'll see the big difference when you are swapping them over.

They were designed and built for low and superlow applications.

In my Au sedan, I ran the original front shocks, and short stroke Pedders Comfort Gas in the rear with the Pedders Ultra Low springs (50mm drop). Handled very well, no body roll to speak of, was a firm ride but not spastically firm, had great feel and the fronts still had good control of the what the wheel was doing even though they were original equipment for a forte. If i was going to do it all again id get a new pair of comfort gas front inserts as well. Was awesome through chain of ponds road in the hills out of Adelaide...
