Aint the best pic, but was taken straight after, and subs and the spare is out in the photo, also reckon its settled a bit over the last couple of weeks. It's on pedders sports ryder springs & shocks. Am loving it, looks wise, and handling wise. Couple of things though, there is a knocking noise when going over the more harsh bumps in the road coming from the rear? And, the centre muffler is about 8cm off the ground (2cm lower than legal), has anyone ever had problems with insurance companies rejecting claims for things like this?? |

Looks Good - Put some Tyre Black on your Tyres
the front looks lower than the back - hopefully it will drop I have not known of an insurer to reject a claim due to a car being lowered UNLESS the damage to the car was all undercarriage and was caused due to the car being too low............... Although as times are tough atm for insurers I have heard of some rejecting claims after they assess the vehicle and find that the tyres on the car are Un-Roadworthy The banging in the rear is prob your exhaust hitting your diff, I had the same issue and went to my local exhaust joint who cut the hanger on the center muffler, just before the diff (not the rear one after the diff) welded it (was 50% shorter) thus lifting the exhaust closer to the body of the car and having more clearance between the diff and the bosy of the car. Your center muffler may also be hanging lower than normal as the rubber holder may have stretched or is broken.

Thanks, will get onto the tyre black, the car is in desperate need for a proper wash! I have pacemakers and a lukey catback sitting here to be put on, so I'll definitely mention what you've said when I get it fitted up..

The lowest point being 80mm from the ground (the muffler) its deemed as unroadworthy so you will more than likely have issues with insurance and the police. Just raise the exaust but must not be touching the floor. You will need to loosen the 2 bolts on the exaust manifold to raise up the front section and possibly shorten the hanger on the rear muffler, then adjustment of the rear tailpipe may be needed.

Forgot to add that the upper and lower trailing arm bolts should be loosened then tightened to let the bushes set at ride height, do this for the front upper and lower control arms. This could be the knocking in the rear. This only applies if they are the rubber type bushes.

Looks awesome mate. Nice ride height. What pedders springs you using in the rear? Are they superlows?

Thanks, but to be honest mate, I didn't even know Pedders categorise their springs like Kings and others do. Mine was all done by measurements... Asked for 525mm rim lip to guard. Hope that helps... And cheers to everyone else for the comments and suggestions so far Last edited by timmay_73 on Sun Dec 14, 2008 2:06 am, edited 1 time in total. |

All my invoice says is "F+R GSRS, F+R Coils", so no real details as to the models, do have the boxes out in the shed though, might have specifics..
