Speedo cable? What kinda car? Yeah a clay/HTB grease will be fine... shouldnt be using too much of the stuff anyways :)

'85 laser.

speedo was bouncing around all over the place and rattling a bit. so i used some wd40 yesterday which made it much better, but still moves around a bit.

i wanted to use some grease or something that might actually stay on the cable, unlike the wd40 which just dripped out when i was reconnecting it to the box.

There is a product that sprays on like WD40 but then turns to a grease. Its marine lube or something like that. It will allow it to run down the cable and then thicken up.

Bunnings may not sell it and they probarbly wont have any idea what you're talking about! I would go to an auto parts shop.
