Hey guys, today went to release the handbrake and she didnt want to go in and by the time i got her in, the handbrake light stayed on. so i pushed her in again and the light went off. the problem is i drove around the block and came back to smell the brakes making a lovely smell. so the problem is the handbrake is not relasing!!
Does any1 know of what could be the problem and how to fix?? also is there a way i could disconect and fix later if its a major problem?? thanks in advance kermey!!! |

stick your head under the back of the car and make sure the handbrake levers (where the cable joins on) are retracting fully against the backing plate of the disk/handbrake drum assembly. If theyre not, try backing off the cable adjustment (underneath the car or at the handbrake lever depending on model car) and see if that makes a difference... failing that u can remove the wheels and brake callipers and discs and see what is floating around inside. The falcon handbrakes are fairly simple in how the operate so u should be able to figure it out from looking...
