Slight hijack, has anyone had Nexen tyres and what are your opinions? They are apparently a subsiduary of Michelin, I've been told.

Nexen, Nankang. They both start with N so it's not really off topic
nothing at all to do with michelin ive never heard of them may be a rip off of a michelin but nothing to do with them

Im running Nankang NS2 Ultra Sport 235/40/18 on my EF.Ive found them to be a grippy in the dry and wet, nice wearing rate and for a great price too.The only problem is they are fairly noisy, but you cant have everything from a performance tyre of this price.

the nankangs, seem to be a harder compound to the yokohamas. I've gotten 30K+ out this set, and they're still easily 30% tread (before markers).

Must say, going from a set of Goodyear Eagle F1's to these, I'm most happy with them, they're better all round, and have lasted 3 times as long too. Bonus. I'll be getting them again.

Yep - as I said earlier I've got 15" Nankang EX-601's and had Pirelli P6000 and Dunlop FM901's previously and I'm completely happy with the Nankangs - they handle great, grip great wet and dry, brake great wet and dry, are nice and quiet and wear pretty good - I got barely 20K out of the FM901's but these EX-601's are lasting me about 60K no worries and no appreciable loss of performance as they get close to wear limit.

thoght they was crap, they are resonable in the dry, but in the wet, well there wasnt even a bit of grip there

Hmm - what specific Nankangs are those? - I'm on my second set of EX-601's (225/60/15) in 3 years and have found them to track dead true even thru sheeting water and puddles and have had no dramas with traction, grip or braking in the wet.

A lot of my car's excellent wet handling might be due to the Bilsteins but the tyres must be playing their part.

Compared to what, what was wrong with them?
I don't think I've ever heard a bad report about them. The boys over at LS1 seem to love them too.

There's a LS1 Caprice, running high 11's with Nankang NS2s.
