Should I be able to hear my fuel pump when I accelerate? I've never noticed it before...
MRE-40L's died last weekend and it's got me worried :?

you'll probably only hear it when u first click the key over to reds.

it should run for 3 seconds when you hit reds.

Well, it sounds like it's struggling! :?
It's making the same sound it was when my alternator belt was loose and not charging my battery for a 30min trip home one day......
It's not the same sound it makes when I turn on reds....

I don't have $140-160!!
If I wait til it dies then Daddy will pay for it for me :) He said he'll pay for "any absolutly necessary repairs"; I don't think I could justify a new fuel pump to him just cuz it's noisy.....

At least if my car dies, I'll know why!

i would source a spare one as i hate for you to be stuck in the middle of nowhere. at least if you have a spare you can change it if it does s**t itself. even if you have to get a 2nd hand one

lol people are too quick, you can try the fuel filter.. About $10. When was the last time it was changed? If it ain't broke not worth fixing but I wouldn't want to break down anywhere. :? If it had to break, be better if it broke by the time I can get rid of mine.. Can pretty much have it. :P
