As the title says, I undid the upper ball joint bolt, and normally the control arm should come loose, but it's stuck, i've hit the control arm with a hammer, tried to pry it down with the crow bar, it is just stuck! I've f**k the thread on the upper ball joint thread, so just bought a new one, but still can't get the control arm loose from the ball joint....
Any ideas! Really can't afford to have the car off the road. |

You can buy ball joint seperators or loose fit the nut back on, while applying pressure with your bar, belt the living crap out of the control arm,not the ball joint.

You can buy seperators at any auto store, even bad ones. Dont worry about the nut, its not important.
Hit it like you stole it or pretend its your ex. |

I have been hitting it like it's my stolen ex girlfriend... I'll go down and hit it a bit more soon. How come it's always just one side that does it, i got the other side done perfectly, and then this happens. |

You must still love your ex.
Get a bigger hammer, in this case it does work. |

Same thing happened to me on my old EA after my partner hit a kerb. Go get a ball joint separator and stop being a girl and hit it.

Hit the side of the control arm. Not up or down. Your swing should be level with the ground.

Okay, so tried pressing the old ball joint out, got a bit of it out... and then snap! my G clamp breaks in half... Anyone have any reccomendations on how to press it out easily? I have to press it out no matter what i'm at the point of no return...
Got another bigger and strong G clamps, but just can't get it... Help! |
