EDIT... so i needed new front shocks picked up a Tickford Suspension Kit of Ebay pretty Cheap... Installed The back springs and shocks using this from another thread i found... but still need some help with the front

changing rear shocks would have to be one of the easiest jobs u can do

jack up car and remove rear wheels and place stands under rear axles

lay down rear seat and remove plastic corner covers to gain access to top of shocker

remove top shocker nut - hold top of shocker shaft with a small shifter or mole grips and undo nut

undo bottom shocker bolt and remove

lower the shocker out thru the spring

installation is reversal of above - with note - make sure bottom bolt is very tight else you will have a knocking niose that will drive you nuts and it is not a bad idea to retension in a couple of weeks time with the full weight of the car on it

If your car is standard height your better off just installing Lows which is the equivelant to XR height. If its an AUIII the shocks should still be ok. Its prob a good idea to get pedders to perform a suspension check but dont mention about you wanting springs as they will tell you what you want to hear!

yeah pedders cost s**t too...got a quote today to lower my car for $1600, for springs shock/struts and camber kit fitted, does this sound right?

I'm just gonna do it all myself and get somewhere to do the camber kit after, that way it works out to be $600 + camber kit....

Do you have the tools to do the job?????
Do you know how to fit the springs to the shockies ( fronts ) so that they fit in, top fits in the holes and the bottom fits over the lower control arm, all lined up.
How long do you reckon it would take you to do it??????
The Pedders guys should be able to do that job in about 4 to 5hrs. Thats springs, shocks, camber kits, wheel alignment & test drive.

Also, whats the rest of the suspension like???? bushes and such???

king springs "Lows" all round are $300, Front Struts are $100 each (standard) and the rear shockers and $50 each (standard) any comments...? the book recommended lowered shockers for the "Low" springs but i really dont think it will matter...

would i just be able to get these for the front???

I had lows fitted all round to my EF. The suspension guys told me that on the front you can get away with standards, but they always change them to shortened shock and then they never have any problems. i'm not sure if AU's are the same deal. :?

so fitted the back ones today sitting maybe a 2cms lower but will settle down i think... had a knocking in the back right so tightened up the bolt on the top an bottom of the shocker and that fixed it up...

just after some advise with the front ones... just edited the first post some instructions like that but for the front would be good... oh and in the suspension kit i got one bracket with a rubber bit on the end.. anyone know where this goes... had a look around when i didnt see anything... its about 10x10x10cms with two holes to be bolted onto something...

cheers...
