hey guys,
i got really p****d off today when a orbital polisher i bought f**k up and fused the polish into my bonnet 
anyway, after spending 20 minutes at the carwash, i hung it out sideways leaving (stupid thing i know) and there was this huge bang, and now ive lost my speed sensitive assistance in my P/S. it steers heavy-ish now kind of like an EA, the fluid is fine, the P/S pulley makes a bit of noise. also the wheel alignment is a tad out now. can anyone tell me what has happened? im scared to drive it because io may have broken something big

an EL Fairmont Ghia, im not sure what made the bang, but it came from the right hand side of the car, somewhere between B pillar and bumper

i think the problem is between the steering wheel and the drivers seat
haha j/k is the power steering working?

im not that bad a driver mitch lol yeah the power steering works but its gone a bit heavier than it used to be. yes there is also fluid in the resorvior

So it only happened after it went "bang" Im betting you have damaged the rack (bent) now its stiff and making the pump work overtime as though its on full lock.

All that tickford power has gone to ya head
I seems to think its a bent steering rack too, need to put it on a hoist or something to check the suspension.

20m is a hell of a wide road though, lol. Wish they were like that around here.
Maybe take it to a joint like pedders that offer free inspections and get them to have a look at it?

You say the alignment is out, out of interest, it doesn't have a ratchet type camber kit in it does it? Other then that, add lower control arm bushes on the list to check, they have a tendency to go on EF/ELs. Either way, it'll be a bush thats gone or a bolt thats loose. If you've bent the rack or a control arm by getting sideways, I'll be real surprised
