Ok, Something has f**k up on my car, i was turning a corner, comeout of the street all well and good then i hear this clunnk...clunk...clunk from the back wheels, so ipull the car over, look around no flat tyre, get in and go to drive off, then a squeak...clunk...squeak...clunk, so leave the car for 10mins s**t myself, then decide f**k it, i'm 500m from home i'll just rollit down the hill,
so while the car is rolling in a straight line, its all fine again, but if i go around a corner on comes th clunk...clunk...clunk... from the back wheels again (and its a BIG clunk) what the F*CK is going on???

Had this happen in an XF ... the diff was on it's way out ... mind you this was after a street full of smoke ... and tyre marks going from gutter to gutter ... LOL

I know this may sound stupid but was your wheel on tight? I had the same thing happen to me.. Had a bit of a collision course with a kerb due to a 'Volvo' driver, about 15mintues later it started to make some weird a** noises..

Turns out the shunt to the kerb loosened the wheel.... Tightened it up and did a balance and alginment all fixed! But yeah only made the noises when the car was turning.

Had a similar problem. Turning corners and pulling into car spots at low speeds. I needed the diff overhauled. There was some savage sideways movement in the diff. Scraping, clunking, squeeling etc...

I broke something off the spider gear in my old SS diff.....used to clunk on deceleration only, and when taking a corner. Went away, came back, went away etc till one day my diff decided it wasnt happy.

I never looked inside the thing, its what Mark from ITS told me

As 4 billion other people said.....Most likely diff. Is it only come from the right hand side? Is it a single spinner? If so, if it only happens when turning most likely diff is going to pack it in soon.

As everyone says its more than likely the diff.
But if you've got time, take your back wheels off, and re-grease the bearings, it may help and its one way to perhaps eliminate the possibilites of what it could be.
