Hi All,
As the title says, I ripped the electronic shift kit out of my EL today, and now the transmission is stuck in Limp Home Mode - ie takes off and stays in third gear. The shift kit was obviously wired into the ECU loom, and to remove it I simply clipped the 3 wires that were going to it. Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Justin. |

Well from memory, one wire spliced into an ECU wire, the other two are joined to another ECU wire which is cut.
Revisit the shift kit thread (started by 'Neds') and that should direct you to the site that has the circuit info. You can then figure out which two wires that need to be rejoined. That hopefully should solve your problem.

NP.
Have a look at http://members.ii.net/~hsv/myELdiagram.png . You need to join together wire 2 and 3. So how do you find wire 1?? It should have 12v on it when Ign is turned on. Hopefully it is the only one that does .

Yeah i'd say you just need to repair that S5 wire - return continuity to it!!

Kids shouldn't be allowed to play with side cutter when they don't understand the wiring

Agreed, but I aint no kid, and really should know better! It was getting dark and I'd been doing a heap of other stuff to the car and I thought stuff it, I'll quickly pull this off - was too tired to think it through though! |

Actually, the current title is perfect for searches - it already tells you exactly what the thread is about.
BTW: Did you end up sorting this problem out ??

To answer original post, it sounds like you just cut the wires. That means that one solenoid (prob S5) wasn't connected at all hence LHM. All you really need to do was to reconnect all the same coloured wires.
