Hi,

I've started the task of replacing my disc rotors this morning, starting with the rears. Cannot undo either of the brake disc retaining screws!!! Jammed solid.

Have tried - soaking in lubricating spray, hitting disc etc with big hammer, and heating disc blow torch. No joy. These things are solid. I've got no worries in the arms department - in fact I'm starting to deform the screw head on the screw, from wailing on it so hard.

A previous mechanic looks like they have punched each screw in two places near the edge (I will try to attach a pic but not sure how) - is this having a locking effect?

Supposed to be collecting my little daughter in a few hours to go to a party - car up on stands - HELP!

I'm assuming you've been using an impact driver, if not give that a go, as there generally always tight.
maybe you'll have to drill it out.

Didn't have an impact driver, but got them out anyway, after getting the following advice:
- heat the screw to cherry red with a blow torch
- then quench it immediately with cold water
- use a large bolt (or similar appropriately sized thing) as a drift, hold it with some vice grips, and smash the sh*t out of the screw head using the bolt/drift and a heavy hammer
- I was able to crack the screws after that, using a screwdriver that could adapt a small spanner for leverage.
