As the title says, i have a bloody annoying high pitched 'ting' coming from my EL going over bumps. have checked out springs to ensure they were seated properly (they were). have had a general look underneath but cant find s**t. Funny thing is, it wont do it when i bounce the car myself, only when hitting speedbumps, rough bits of road (like almost every road in sydney) and driveway gutters etc.

This might be an "err durr" but if you do not get the noise when bouncing sitting still but do get the noise whilst moving, maybe something is amiss horizontally instead of vertically?
I had to replace the whole steering rack in my weapon which was making some horrific noises, mostly whilst turning, and I hear its common for these to throw the odd rack every 80 thou or so! F**k expensive too those racks at $800 odd. This may not help but might make you think outside the square?

You can eliminate the front shock towers from the equasion by spaying the s**t out of them with RP7 - top from the engine bay (over the bolts). Some of the earlier E-Series I've witnessed seem to wear an elongation in tower bolt holes, that can cause a squeak over rough surfaces.

thanks for the replies
Im almost positive its not the rack, the one i have in there is fairly new. I will go at the thing with some RP7 though, doing one bush/joint at a time
