heya, was on ff and heard a lotta talk of hitting various bumpstops in the car when lowered. just wondering if anyone could clear up what the bumpstops are and how likely it is to be hitting them? cheers!

There is a rubber "block" on the shosker.If the suspension travels too far and the shock runs out of travel,it will hit the rubber stop.Probly happen if you fit super lows and standard shocks.

the bump stops are the same size and plce in athe same makes of cars ie ef xr has the same bump stops as a ef gli! my xr hits the diff bump stop! damn superlows looks f**k awesome though!

Some people cut them in half so they don't get the THUD as often.
Or you could restore the car to legal height! |

what's the story with the diff bumpstop? how low is your car that it hits that?

With superlows in my fairlane and 3 people in the back i never hit the bump stops, maybe i didnt go over big enough bumps/holes lol?!
Didnt know the diff had a bump stop even!

I didnt think e series had a diff bump stop....not any ive seen anyway...i have seen them on old x series falcons though...

had that problem with my eb the bump stops are on the shock not the diff the only way to fix it was to fit a lowered shock (shorter body) and the only one i found was an ultima and i couldnt be happier now never hits bump stop put it to the test the other day three guys in back full of gas and petrol didnt hit bump stop but umm tail shaft hit floor but it is very low and i never usually have that big a load maybe there is other brand short stroke shocks but i havnt heard of them but as i say i find the ultimas good

I have shortened pedders shockers in the back of my xr8 and they are fine...most i have had in the back was 6 pool salt bags (about 150kg) and a tank of fuel and it didn bottom out....not too many joint make them though |

ive just got lowered king spings all round (not super lows) and bought munro gt gas shocks. I was told unless iw as goin super lows not to worry about gettin the shortened shocks...ne comments? this is a EL falcon btw so no issues regarding trapping the spring exist...
