Hey guys recently noticed an issue with my 2007 BF MK2 xr6 where the rear brakes get extremely hot. I did notice the pads were a little worn down and have purchased new ones to replace them with. I went for a drive yesterday (nothing extreme, just to the shops and back) and when I finally got to my destination the rear brakes were radiating a lot of heat. The fronts were nice and cool but there rears were untouchable (I'm touching the rim not not the rotor). The handbrake in the car seems a little loose as I have to pull it fairly high to lock it in. Can I just adjust this by the cable under the car or do i have to take apart the rear assembly? I have also read that backing off the rod in the booster can help.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. TIA
