So I have a au 2 brake booster that is steel the ef one is plastic and it melted
 because of me extractors are close to it ahahahAhah just wanted to know if I can mod the au 2 one to make it fit??

Yes you can fit an AUII Booster to an EF/EL. You will need to redril your firewall to take the 4 bolt pattern of the AU Booster and you will need an AUII Master Cylinder.

Cool that's what I thort they look the some just with 4 bolts
The master cylinder is the bit what the brake fluid goes in ??

apart from the above mentioned are the AU S2 brake boosters/master cylinders any better than their earlier model EF counterparts?

Shen Long wrote: apart from the above mentioned are the AU S2 brake boosters/master cylinders any better than their earlier model EF counterparts? yes, the series 2 master cyl has a bigger bore allowing more fluid transfer, probably not really noticable on the tiny e series calipers but still an upgrade from the earlier stuff, and the booster being steel is on upgrade on its own.... just a note, im not sure if anyone has had this issue, but when i changed from series1 au plastic booster to series 2 steel booster other than re drilling the firewall there was a difference in the angle of the firewall causing the pedal rod to bind, so i had to space the bottom of the booster 4mm to get the pedal rod angle right..... |

i could have, but i used a 4mm tapered flat plate for the bottom ..
i have heard of others using the au2 booster on ef and no where has there been a mention of my issue??... |

My pedal is really soft but it brakes good anyway I can make it harder ??
It went in all good I didn't tighten up the nuts on the firewall all the way I have it a bot 2 get hot and stuff than I tightened it I and I have used 3 bottles of dot 4 brake fluid

I've just purchased an EF Fairmont S1 but the bloke told me he thinks the brake booster is stuffed. How do i remove the brake booster off of the Lane?i have heard of others using the au2 booster on ef and no where has there been a mention of my issue??... Are the bolts on the inside of the car above the brake pedals etc? |

yes, there are 2 nuts on ef just above/infront of the brake pedal above the steering column..

I fixed this problem the second time by buying some reflective foil tape & covering the plastic drum
two fold fix; 1- reflective foil prevents heat 2- completely encasing the drum, thereby holding the piece together
